Randall Photography Pre Wedding Shoot Promo

We have just completed editing the promo video we created for our good friends at Randall Photography

The video was filmed some months ago in an old victorian swimming baths in Manchester with the subject being 'A Pre Wedding Shoot' of one of Stewart's up coming Wedding's. The idea was to show how much fun a pre wedding shoot can be and also how important they are in preparing the Bride and Groom for the wedding day photography. As you can see from the video it really is a fun way of easing you into getting comfortable with having your photo's taken and getting used to your photographers style of direction.

IOV AWARDS WINNER PRESS RELEASE

The IOV (Institute of Videography) announced the winners of their annual awards on 14th October

at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. The IOV Awards cover six key areas of video production, namely Best Corporate, Best Wedding Day Film, Best Documentary, Best Film, Best Music Video and Best Open - and are freely open to all IOV
members.

In addition, a new award was introduced this year for Best Overall Production.

Lenik Wedding Films of Leeds won the 'Highly Commended Award' in the Open category against extremely tough competition. With over 1,000 members throughout Europe, the IOV Awards has fast become the leading showcase of talent in professional videography and attracts sponsorship from the leading manufacturers and suppliers to the industry.

Presented by former Tomorrow’s World star, Maggie Philbin, the Oscar-style ceremony took place alongside the IOV’s Annual Convention held in the Jaguar Halls at the Ricoh Arena,Coventry. Almost all the short-listed entrants were in attendance, and as the final running order is not announced until the night it creates a wonderfully exciting atmosphere for all participants.

Their entry, Laura's Wedding Dream, was one of only five short-listed titles within the Open category – which is a significant achievement in itself. Judges were not only looking for exceptional video production standards, but also originality and creative flair which demonstrate the value to customers of commissioning a professional videographer.

Lenik Wedding Films are tremendously proud of their achievement in the IOV Awards and look forward to the additional exposure that IOV Award winners receive each year. IOV Administrator, Kevin Cook, commented on Lenik Wedding Films award, “The IOV Awards get tougher and tougher each year as the general standards in video production rise. To win an IOV Award is a significant accomplishment indeed. I’m really pleased for Lenik Wedding Films and hope that this achievement will generate more commissions for them in the coming year.”

Just finished putting Alex & Sarah's wedding video together. Here is the brides prep section for you all to enjoy. Sarah and Alex loved the edited version. Sarah makes for a stunning Bride so wasn't very hard to make her look good!

Randall Network Blackpool Meet-up Video

Something a bit different for todays blog post. Im lucky enough to be part of an amazing Photograpahers Network run and hosted by Randall Photography. The network consists of like mided UK wedding photographers from all over the UK. I'm the only wedding videographer in the network, which means is a bit of a honour to be invited into it.

This was the first major meet-up of the network members and gave everyone an opportunity to get to know each other and discuss issues such as marketing, new tips and techniques etc.....for me it gave me a chance to get handy with my Canon 5D Mark 2.

It was a great day and night out in Blackpool and will be remembered for a long time to come. We manged to drink a lot, shoot/film some great shots of Blackpool lights and the beach.

If anybody needs any recommendations for photographers please ask me as there are over 20 amazing photographers in the Randall Network who I can put you in touch with.

Priya & Neil's Wedding Highlights using Canon 5d Mark 2

Just finished editing 'The Wedding of Priya & Neil' so thought I would upload the highlights video for you all to watch.

Filmed this wedding using a combination the 5D Mark 2 and the Sony EX-1. These are two new cameras we bought this year, both filming full 1920x1080p HD resolution. The 5D footage is the shots with the shallow depth of field(blurry out of focus backgrounds) and gives a real cinematic look and feel to the film.

Hayley Ruth Photography Interview

We were recently interviewed by highly rated Essex based photographer Hayley Ruth for an article on her blog. Every Wednesday she has a featured wedding supplier carry out some Q&A's. Last week she had a wedding favour company called the 'Buiscuteers' and this week its me!

Filming at one of my favourite venue's tomorrow, Hazelwood Castle then im travelling down to London on Friday to film a wedding near Heathrow on the Saturday. Another busy weekend!

IOV VIDEO AWARDS 2009 SHORT LIST

We made the shortlist for this year IOV video awards! We are really proud of this achievment as there were a record number of applicants this year.

We are going to the finals in october so fingers crossed we can pick up an award or two!

Website updates

You may have noticed the site now has the updates, big thank you to Jon Kilmartin for doing those for me, you may notice though that there are a few spelling mistakes!!!!These will be corrected asap, my fault though (not Jon's) as gave him incorrect files. Just ignore them for the time being (the spelling mistakes) and they will be sorted asap.

This Weekends Weddings

Had a busy weekend of weddings. Friday I was at Rogerthorpe Manor in Badsworth filming the wedding of Anna Vollands, a well renowned ballet dancer, to Phil Yates. Anna was a stunning Bride, and Phil scrubbed up well too!

It was a lovely wedding with very chic guests many of whom had travelled up from London. I got some really great shots using the mix of the 5D Mark 2 and the Sony EX-1.

Really looking forward to editing it, once I do I will post it on this blog.

On Saturday I travelled over to Halfax to film the wedding of Danni Saxton to James Burke. The wedding was early start with the wedding at 11 so was at the brides house for 9am to film her preparations. Weather wasnt great, with a bit of rain as Danni arrived at the church.

The reception was at one of my favourite venue's, Oulton Hall. Ended up being a late one but was a great wedding and a lovely couple.

Today was a day of rest! Spent it with my beautiful wife and even more gorgeous 6 month old Son. In the Saxton/Burke father of the bride speech he said, make sure you put aside time for your kids, then put aside even more as they grow up fast.........

I kept that in my mind today so we spent the day as a family. Back working now though as they are in bed!

Website updates

Apologies to those people who have been checking to see the new updates to the website. There has been a slight delay but ive been assured they will be up by the end of the week. The updates will be new video examples, a FAQ page, about us, equipment and bio info on the team as well as downloadable booking form and terms and conditions.

Just finishing off editing a corporate job for adidas which has been a lot of fun, but hard work. Will be nice to get back to editing the weddings. I do enjoy editing the corporate jobs but it does take the edge of your creativity options. What I love about filming weddings is that each wedding is different and unique. You have to be on your toes all day looking out for those great shots.

Anyway my video files have rendered so back to the edit suite!

Laura's Wedding Dream

Below is a video that we made for Laura and Paul. Its a special edit that we made specifically to enter into this years wedding video awards. Its a mix of Laura's wedding day highlights and a Bridal shoot. The Bridal Shoot takes place after the wedding and gives the Bride a chance to get back into her wedding dress.

Just a few thank you's for the video....firstly to Laura for being so photogenic and such an easy person to film and direct. Laura's mum for helping make sure we were all fed and watered and last but not least Stewart Randall of Randall Photography. Stewart took the photo's of Laura's wedding and agreed to help me out with the Bridal Shoot. Stewart is a genuis behind the camera and his work is outstanding so we were very lucky to have his creative input on the day. Will post some of the photos Stewart took later today.

Anyway fingers crossed, posting the DVD to the IOV today to enter it into their wedding day video awards.

Im back

Hello Everyone

Apologies for not posting for a while (a year!)put the blog on a back burner for a while as we got very very busy with weddings and editing. right in the middle of 2009 wedding season which is going amazingly well.

Have filmed some amazing weddings (which will post on the blog in the coming months)

We have just updated the website which you will see we have added new examples to the portfolio. these are weddings from 2008 so please take your time to have a look.

Have loads of things to blog, met lots of great photographers, bought loads of new equipment,
had a baby. Will drip feed it to you over the next few weeks and will post some nore videos and pics as well as new reviews on the wedding s we have done.

We are looking to enter some wedding video awards this year so im hopeful of picking up something to start off the collection.

anyway night to everyone and look forward to blogging a lot more in the upcoming weeks.
